About Me
Hi my name is Doug Hutchings (RCST, BPhED, CES). I have worked as a physical therapist (1:1 personal training) and exercise consultant for a number of gyms and physiotherapy clinics over the last 10 years in New Zealand and London.
I studied at Otago University in New Zealand, doing degrees in Physical Education and Pyschology, graduating in 1999.
I literally “fell” into the healing arts in 2006 after barely surviving a 40ft fall onto stone, hands and head first, breaking many bones along the way! I was personally able to see the body’s ability to heal itself if given the right help and space, to facilitate its own inherent healing mechanisms. This inspired me to first study reiki and then Craniosacral therapy to help others on their way back to health. I studied under Thomas Attlee at the College of Craniosacral Therapy, which is the most establised college in Europe.
http://www.ccst.co.uk/I aim to help reconnect the mind/body and spirit to bring about life changes. The focus is on the individual’s needs, and treatment proceeds at the pace of the individual, which in CST is what the 'body' needs and not necessarily the 'mind'.
My approach to healing, whether it be physical, emotional or spiritual, is to deeply “listen” to the body as a whole, and bring the body’s system back into balance again to promote its own innate healing and self-repair potential.
I work with subtle energy systems to enhance energy flow and dissipate blockages, also the physical body through corrective/postural and breathing exercises, and diet advice to help detoxify and enhance overall health and vitality.
I am a fully insured and registered therapist with both Cranio-sacral and Exercise professional associations. I am also qualified as a level III Reiki practitioner (original Usui system) giving intuitive healing treatments.
